I'm Andre Costa and I am a professional videographer with a specialty in promotional videos. I have been creating high-end promo videos for the past twelve years.
I’ve been in love with video and movies since I was a kid. When I was ten my dad bought a Super 8 Canon camcorder. No one really knew how to use it and I was elected the family "filmographer". I didn't make movies so much as took random shots of family reunions and outdoor landscapes. Looking back I see that I was passionate about filmmaking from a very early age.
Soon I began experimenting with stop motion editing and animation techniques used to make static objects appear to move on their own. And I can tell you that editing cellulose film on a manual reel and a splicer was both a challenge and a blast. In my teens, I spent untold hours cutting and gluing film. As early as fifteen I was a moderately accomplished filmmaker. When VHS camcorders appeared on the consumer market, I learned all I could about the new technology. Later I bought a mini VHS camcorder and began experimenting with the basics of non-linear editing (using computers). Then when personal computers took hold and affordable digital editing software hit the market, I mastered both.
I have since studied all aspects of high-end non-linear editing–special effects, sound, all the elements needed to make a great video. Today I consider myself an expert videographer with an animated, entertaining and engaging style.
